This live webinar is focused on time intelligence features of the Data Analysis eXpression (DAX) and is intended to provide capabilities that would otherwise be very difficult to produce. Understanding the basic principle of time intelligence requires the creation of the calendar date table, a date table which will provide the anchor for evaluating randomly occurring dates in date type columns of fact tables. By doing this, users can then align fact or transaction table with the calendar table. From here on user participants are expected to be able to perform running total computations, for various perspectives such as cumulative month to date, cumulative quarter to date, and cumulative year to date, to name a few business case scenarios.
Other capabilities to be taken up in this webinar includes capabilities to perform comparative reports, such as month to month (MoM), quarter on quarter (QoQ), and/or year on year (YoY) comparative analysis capabilities. There's also the advanced feature of parameters which enables users to move back and forth in time where totals actively change their values, based on the parameters passed using Time Intelligence capabilities.
To attend this training course, participants are expected to have completed the introduction to Microsoft Power BI Data Visualization and Data Analysis eXpression.
