The topic of the 3rd Sustainability Committee meeting is circular economy and materials recycling, including waste management.

Many companies globally are facing their responsibility for handling the waste that their operations create, as part of reaching SDG 12 on Responsible Consumption and Production. Microplastics have recently been found in human bodies, as well as in the foods we eat. The issue is even more pressing in the Philippines, where waste management still presents a large challenge.

On July 20, our guest speaker will be Commissioner Crispian Lao​, Vice Chairman of the National Solid Waste Management Commission under the Office of the President, as the Private Sector Representative for the Recycling Industry Sector, and Founding President of the Philippine Alliance for Recycling and Material Sustainability. Based on his extensive experience in the private sector on materials recycling and waste management, Commissioner Lao will share with us the best practices and insights from the field.

The presentation will be followed by a Q&A session. Afterward, there will be 45 min. brainstorming session for participants to share their learnings and their practices with waste management and materials recycling.
