The topic of the 6th Sustainability Committee meeting will be on actions that companies can take to promote gender, diversity and inclusion in the workplace.
The Philippines is among the countries with the highest number of women in leadership roles, and 39% of senior management roles are occupied by women in 2022 according to Grant Thornton International Ltd.'s Women in Business research. However, issues persist related to low labour force participation rate, unequal compensation, and other constraints facing women workers. How can your company ensure gender, diversity, and inclusion in your workplace, and promote SDG 5 on Gender Equality?
We have invited Ms. Lotis Ramin, Country President, AstraZeneca Philippines,Ms. Joan Gonzalez, Country Recruitment Manager, H&M, and Mr. Lester Nazarene Ople, Sprout HR Evangelist to speak.
Ms. Ramin will speak about gender equality and inclusive leadership in the workplace. AstraZeneca is close to reaching its goal of gender equality in management positions, with 48.1% occupied by women in 2021.
Ms. Gonzalez will share their overall inclusion and diversity strategy within the H&M Group, as 72% of management positions are occupied by female employees, along with the local actions taken in the Philippines.
Mr. Ople will share their work on gender equality at Sprout Solutions, and how to use statistics to detail wage inequalities.
The presentations will be followed by a Q&A session. Afterward, there will be a 45 min. facilitated brainstorming session for participants to share their experiences and challenges with achieving gender, diversity, and inclusion in their own workplace.
