The 2020 Annual General Membership Meeting (AGM) of NordCham Philippines will be held at ________

In the President's and Treasurer's Reports Bo Lundqvist and Martin Ejeklint reported that as of December 2018 NordCham has 120 members and i

s expected to grow to 144 this year. A 20% growth was posted from membership, events and consulting services in 2018.

The AGM elected the following members for the 2019 NordCham Board of Directors:

• Bo Lundqvist, Retail Associates
• Martin Ejeklint, Swedish Match Philippines
• Marie Antoniette E. Mariano, BDO Unibank
• Erik M. Nielsen, Global Process Manager
• Jan Andre Heggem, SMS Global

NordCham Premium Members for 2020 were also introduced to the membership:

• BDO Unibank
• KMC Savills
• KMC Solutions
• Regus Philippines and SPACES
• Sofitel Philippine Plaza Manila
• Trends and Concepts Total Interior Solutions, Inc.
• Turkish Airlines

The AGM was followed by the Economic Briefing which featured Undersecretary Karl Kendrick Chua of the Department of Finance and Mr. Jonathan Ravelas, First Vice President and Chief Marketing Strategist of BDO Unibank, Inc.

Making headways despite the headwinds

USec. Chua presented the milestones and accomplishments of the Philippine government in the past year and the general economic outlook for 2019, and the Comprehensive Tax Program (CTRP) whose aim is to make the tax system simpler, fairer, and more efficient that will accelerate progress and will provide additional and a more sustainable stream of revenues need to be generated to make meaningful investments on our people and infrastructure to achieve our vision for the Philippines.

Mr. Ravelas discussed about the changing landscape in the global market, the economic and financial market outlook as well as the domestic engines of growth in the Philippines.
