EVENT DETAILS

Join us for an insightful forum on the Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) Act. This event will explore key policies driving sustainability and circular economy practices in the Philippines. Hear from expert speakers as they dive into EPR implementation, business implications, and best practices from the European business community in advancing post-consumer waste management.

Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) is a policy approach that places the responsibility of managing post-consumer waste on producers, encouraging companies to design sustainable products and implement waste management solutions. As environmental concerns grow globally, EPR has become a key strategy in reducing plastic waste and promoting circular economies.

The EPR Act in the Philippines (Republic Act No. 11898) took effect in 2022. The implementation of EPR legislation marks an important step in addressing the country's plastic pollution crisis. With the EPR act in place, this forum will aim to cover an in-depth overview of EPR, its implementation, and its impact on the Philippines business community, outline future impact for companies not covered by EPR legislation now, and share best practices on how and why the European business community can be at the forefront of sustainability in the Philippines.

Organized in collaboration with the BFBC, British Chamber of Commerce Philippines, French Chamber of Commerce and Industry in the Philippines, ECCP - European Chamber of Commerce of the Philippines, German-Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Inc., Spanish Chamber of Commerce in The Philippines - La Cรกmara, Swiss Chamber of Commerce of the Philippines, and Nordic Chamber of Commerce of the Philippines, this forum will bring together stakeholders from government, private sector, academe, and civil society. This will be a good opportunity to connect with a vast sector representation relevant to the topic.
