Event Details

As should now be common knowledge, especially with all the developments late last year, the renewable energy (RE) sector is open to fullforeign ownership. This is piquing the interest of both Asian neighbors and the rest of the world whose expertise lie in the sector. It's amassive opportunity as the Philippine geography seems designed for further renewable energy exploration โ€” solar, wind, offshore wind, among others. So, what exactly is next?

Our forum invites a key representative of the Department of Energy to discuss the overall status: of the new legislation, research anddevelopment of new technologies, and targets of the department. This will culminate in informing the private entities, both local andforeign, how they can work with the government and what the Filipino can expect with these changes.

What we want to accomplish:

Government point of view โ€” how do they plan to manage the influx of interest across the different types of RE and the manydevelopers who are interested? Is our policy ready? If not yet, when will it be? What do the private sector need to continue doingto be ready for the roll out* Consumer point of view โ€” what are the benefits end users should look forward to?

NordCham Philippines supports this event organized by the Spanish Chamber of Commerce in the Philippines (La Camara) and Acciona.
